Parent Morning Teas
This week was our first round of parent morning teas. Early Years and Primary parents met on Tuesday, while Secondary and Senior parents met on Thursday. The aim of these events was to give people an opportunity to connect with others in the school community. Judging by the conversations that were had, I think we achieved this aim! Special thanks to Gympie Wesleyan Methodist Church for donating food to us.
Secondary Girls’ Group Returns
Secondary Girls’ Group will be starting again on Tuesday in Week 6, during first break. Rather than running all term, Girls’ Group will only run for several weeks per term, and activities will be advertised beforehand so girls can work out whether they want to attend. In Week 6, we will be making bracelets and, in Week 7, we will be colouring in. Girls’ Group is a wonderful opportunity for everyone to spend time with others in a relaxed environment, have a chat, and do some interesting activities.
Choir Also Returning for 2025
Secondary and Senior Choir will be starting again on Thursday Week 6, during first break. We will be learning a brand new, exciting song that I hope we will be able to share with others. This year, choir will only be running for several weeks in terms one and three, with something new and exciting planned for terms 2 and 4. Choir is fun and relaxing, and allows students to develop social skills and confidence while learning to make music with other people.
Essentials Hampers
Hamper raffles are starting again next week. A school family will be chosen each fortnight to receive a hamper made up of pantry and household essentials to the value of $20. All school families will automatically be in the draw. These hampers help us to better connect with school families and promote the services of Vinnies and other organisations who help those who are struggling. Special thanks to Vinnies Gympie for making up these hampers for us.
My role is to support the wellbeing of staff, students, parents, and others in our school community. If you ever need to have a chat or help with something, please contact me. I’m at school on Tuesday (8.30am-11.35am) and Thursday (9.30am-2.35pm), and I can also be contacted via email – rsdri0@eq.edu.au.
