P4 News
Hello from P4,
Term 3 is finishing with a bang. The year seems to be going way too fast and we have packed so much into this term.
Book Week was a great success with students dressing up, along with many staff. I came as Miss Frizzle from the Magic School Bus series. We were also fortunate enough to have some families visit to help celebrate this wonderful week. We also had a butterfly (Trinity), Dalmatian (Skylah), werewolf (Koby), Spiderman (Taten) and Wonder-woman (Rose).
Taten has continued to wow us with more medals for his athletic ability, including cross country and track events. Sixth in Australia in Cross Country, very impressive. Well done, Taten!
Our students have continued to increase their soccer skills with Coach Tim on Tuesdays. Rose is kicking more accurately; Skylah is kicking further. Both Trinity and Koby are getting very good at blocking and kicking goals as they sometimes practise at playtime as well.
We also had a science incursion where the students made slime other fun chemical Science. To top it off, we had a visit from Mr Bubble who amazed all students as he covered them in bubbles in a range of fun ways.
To top it off, we had our excursion on Thursday in week 9. We visited the Gympie Library and thoroughly enjoyed the Makerspace with Curtis (Librarian) reading several texts. My favourite was Mopoke. We created flying birds and flew them around the room. We finished with 3D printers in action making sundials for our classrooms and a demonstration of several robots driven by an iPad. We headed back to school for some food and a play. Next step was Ten Pin Bowling for a couple of games, then back to school. We had a play and spaghetti bolognaise with ice cream for dessert.
Yes, we did throw some schoolwork in along the way with all students increasing their knowledge and skills.
Enjoy the break,
Koby, Rose, Skylah, Taten and Trinity, Steve and Deb.
