What’s been happening?
Music and Drumming programs to help students learn about friendships and emotional regulation have been continuing, with the focus this term on Secondary school students.

What’s coming up?
Firstly, I apologise for the recent afternoon tea being cancelled at such short notice – there was a family situation that I needed to attend to.
We have rescheduled this as a morning tea on Thursday 10 September, 2020.
I know that so many students and families struggled throughout the COVID-19 lockdown, and in the transition back to school during last term. I know that even this term, things have been harder than normal as the various support networks we would normally access have been slow to reopen, or had delays due to the backlog that built up during the shutdown.
In lieu of the last parent and carer gathering being cancelled, I would still like to acknowledge you – to create a space where you can have some time out (with yummy food of course). Often the role of a parent is hard and I see many of my friends who are parents feeling overwhelmed and unappreciated. So this is my little opportunity to simply say “thank you” for all you do for your children.
Flyers with further details will be coming home in the student diaries shortly, information will also be available online soon through Gympie Special School Facebook page.
Due to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, if you wish to attend you will need to pre-register by contacting the School Office on (07) 5480 2333; or by letting us know in the Facebook Event. Please pre-register by Monday, 7 September with the number of people attending. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding in this.
