WOW, it's hard to believe that we are halfway through term 2 already. Time flies when you are having fun. The highlight of the week for Primary 1 has been working with Coach Tim in preparation for sports day. We have been participating in sporting events such as shotput, high jump, sprints, hurdles and even javelin. The favourite event so far being javelin, where we pretend that we are cave men throwing spears.

In English we have been comparing similarities and differences of clothing and toys. In the story The Proudest Blue, the main character Asiyah wears a scarf in her hair, and in the book The Patchwork Bike, three brothers make a bike out of scrap materials they find around their village. We have also discovered some budding DJs and been practicing our switch control skills. Scanning through song choices, selecting a favourite song to listen to and controlling the start and stop of the music.

In Maths, we have investigated 2D and 3D shapes and practiced using words to describe the shape such as straight, bendy, curved, side, corners, slide and roll. In science, we have compared and sorted toys and everyday object in regards to how they move (either a push or a pull).
