HOC News
Hi everyone,
This week we have had the pleasure of sharing and learning with Jane Farrall. Jane is a speech pathologist and special educator passionate about literacy, Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and Assistive Technology. With over 20 years of experience in the disability and assistive technology field she has lots of practical experience working with people with a range of abilities. We all have had the pleasure of observing Jane at work in our classrooms with our teachers and students sharing reading, comprehension, letters, sounds and words activities, all with a focus on developing literacy and communication. It was lovely to be involved in these sessions, everyone had a fun time and we all have learned some new skills. As a school we value each of our students individual learning needs, and learning new ways to understand and work with our students improves their learning outcomes. We strongly believe that every student is a learner and can learn to read and write to help them to understand the world around them. We can’t wait for Jane’s return visit in October!
Kind regards,
Shellie
