Junior Secondary 1
Term 4 already. We have some fun days coming up over the next few weeks. Please refer to our sector calendar for details (especially dress up days.) Our students are busily planning artworks for the up-and-coming art exhibition and auction. Ms Deb is also producing some work at home. Watch this space, we are all a little excited!
Our English continues to put a smile on our dials as we conquer a new rhyming text each week. JS1 learners are becoming more familiar with identifying and creating rhyming text. Week 1 text was an adaptation of ‘Old MacDonald.’ The text ‘Old McDonald had a phone,’ explored not only rhyme but the overuse and impact of smart phones in our world in a most humorous way.
During maths, our learners are beginning to work independently in pairs to achieve their desired goals by playing games fairly. It is wonderful to see how far we have come during 2021. In addition, we have noticed the fair play has moved into the playground with students from Junior Secondary accepting everyone into a range of games from make believe to soccer.
Please remember with the hotter weather, students need to wear shorts or bring a spare pair in the bag along with their hat and water bottle.

Keep sun safe,
JS1 students, Darren, Dana, and Deb.
