What and excellent start to the school year! With Cann Taylor on leave, Mr. Kenrick has happily taken over the class for the remaining weeks of Term 1. Mr. Kenrick has enjoyed getting to know the students and working with Cann.

Our English classes have focused on improving our reading and writing skills. Students have participated in shared reading activities and have been focusing on revisiting one class text multiple times throughout the week. They have also been making weekly visits to the library. Students have been using their classroom and outside environment to influence their learning and question and understand the world around them.

In Math, students have been working on learning on simple strategies to solve everyday problems. They have been representing numbers in a variety of forms including MAB blocks, arrays, and tally marks. The students have also been using technology to demonstrate their knowledge and understand how it can be used in the real world.  

This week has seen students engaging in end of term activities and craft activities to create items to be sold in the Mother’s Day stand. Some of the activities have included creating seed bombs, working with clay, creating coasters, and card making. The students have also been engaged in a variety of end of term activities to better prepare for and understanding the Easter holiday.
