Digital Technology - Week 10

This has been a very productive term as the students learn about programming.  Most students have already progressed past basic programming.  We use the Blu-Bots to teach students the fundamentals of programming.  They learn that at the most basic level, programming is all about following and/or creating a sequence of instructions to complete a task.  This is a skill that is transferable and will be highly useful in many aspects of student’s lives beyond school both now and in the future.  Once these basic skills are demonstrated they then move onto applying these skills to programming their own animations and/or games using a program called Scratch Junior.  While on this learning journey student’s also get to further develop their communication, social skills and emotional regulation as they interact and work with staff and peers.
