We have had a fantastic start to term 2, with a focus on developing staff professionally and students returning to school routine. Our staff have attended professional development opportunities such as Restorative Practice, Team Teach Intermediate Trainer and PATH (Planning Alternative Tomorrows with Hope) training to expand knowledge and assist with the delivery of curriculum within the Gympie Special School setting.

Last week, we had our first Twilight staff meeting where staff were introduced to practical examples of how to implement ‘Zones of Regulation’ into classroom activity. I would like to thank Elizabeth Noske for preparing and sharing her knowledge along with her resources.

We will have our first student council meeting to be scheduled within the next 3 weeks of school. Our student council will discuss our current PBL rewards systems and choose our term 3 activity for PBL rewards day. Allowing our student’s a voice within school wide decisions is a priority within our Annual Implementation Plan and we I look forward to the ideas and decisions our students put forward.

A reminder that Gympie show is this Friday (17^th May) and therefore no attendance at school. This also coincides with being have way through term 2.
