Hello there from P1,

The start of term two has seen our students continue to develop their abilities in P1 through their English, Maths and Health and Physical Education areas.

So far this term we have continued to put a significant emphasis on literacy, focusing on many of the building blocks that will help our students later in life. With a big focus on letters, sounds and how they link together to make words, that we then take to make sentences, the students are finding their learning challenging but hopefully fun.

In maths we have engaged our students through a variety of different activities that have had a number focus. Through using hands-on activities and games, technology and peer-based learning, our students have been kept busy with their learning.

Our HPE sessions have focused on team work and turn taking, as well as following the rules and respecting each other. The students of P1 have had a great time during our HPE lessons. We were also fortunate enough to have a special archery incursion. It was incredible to see how the students engaged with their new learning and focused on the tasks that the instructor put in place.
